Still no luggage. Hating on US Airways right now.Â
Every once in a while, I realize that I don’t know any of the Top 40 songs. I’ve been listening to my mp3 player all the time, my car is sans radio at the moment, and god knows you can’t find music on MTV. So when we were at the club in Scottsdale I realized that I was dancing to a song, several songs in fact, that I didn’t know. It was weird. Especially when everyone around me is jumping around all excited and I’m like “umm, who is this??” I realized it was time to find a radio. So the past few days I’ve been making a concerted effort to listen to new music. Which is harder than it seems because I usually dislike a song the first time I hear it. Does anyone have this problem? It’s kinda sad that the only reason we like some songs is because we hear them so often we become robotic to it, sorta :) On the other hand, I’m watching VH1 and they are showing videos. Videos, people! As in the actual name of the station…..which never happens on MTV or VH1! I guess the key is tuning it at 10:30 in the AM.
Vacations rock.
Ever since my luggage was lost a couple of years ago, I do everything in my power to carry-on for trips. So why am I watching My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding and waiting for US Airways to delivery my LOST LUGGAGE at midnight???
Last week I was Scottsdale for my school’s annual conference. We overtook the Fairmont Princess; 1300 of us, average age of 27, staying up until the wee hours sipping drinks and swimming in one of the four pools. I got a massage at the Willow Stream Spa, votest one of the best in North America and I can tell you why - it is AWESOME. Best money ever spent. The city itself was really cool, I would have loved to have had a chance to explore it all. It was all a  blast….until I started getting sick. Right around the end of the Summit, I had a horrible sore throat. When I left for Vegas on Friday, pretty damn sick.Â
Ok, so I met Priya and Jen for a weekend and we stayed at Caesar’s Palace. Kick-ass hotel, another great dime (many many dimes) spent. It was really great to see them, it had been so long since we were all together. I was really bummed that Beth couldn’t make it, but she’s too busy in slooooowww Naples (kidding Bethie!). The weird thing was that we kept running into people from BMC (Boston Medical Center). I mean, that’s where we all met and then I ran into an old Radiology Resident I knew, who was interviewing for a job in town! Later that night, Jen met a former doc from BMC at the club Pure. It was like we could only meet people from BMC. Strange. The pools at Caesar’s were beautiful. Again, I am burning with a fever (now it’s the flu) and decide that a day in the sun is exactly what I need…to further dehydrate myself. What can I say, I paid money and this was my first trip to Sin City!  We ended the trip with a Cirque de Soleil show. We saw O. Fabulous. Freaky at times, people in painted body suits and strange masks frighten me, but really good. It was definitely worth sitting through, with a (Caesar’s) face towel to cool off with and ice to chew on.  Haha, I really really thought I was going to pass out at any moment. I have never been that hot with fever in my life. Have you ever had that? Where you touch your tongue and you can feel how HOT it is? When you get in a cold shower and it doesn’t even feel cool? Scary.Â
So I make it through the weekend, with much help from my friends, and onto my plane. I thought I was free. I go to put up my bag in the overhead compartment and, well, it doesn’t fit. Too much junk in the trunk, literally. Dude, I tried stepping on it before I left the hotel, but to no avail. So they decide to check it through to DC. I should have known. It seemed so simple. But I get to DC, wait an hour (seriously) for the luggage to come out and after every single person has left, there I am. No luggage. DAMMIT.
So it’s two days later and they promised to deliver by 11pm. It’s 12:30. Nada. The main thing I want, besides my coveted planner, is my cell phone charger!  Phone is completely dead and I can’t find another charger in the city that will fit this stupid Nokia phone.  No joke, the ”will fit ALL Nokia phones” charger DIDN’T FIT MINE. Hate it. So I’d really really like my luggage now. Please.
