the snowglobe
Monday, December 17th, 2001Snowglobes. Quite a concept, I think. Capturing a moment forever, encasing and shielding it from the outside world. It appeals to me on a number of levels, which is why I started collecting them.
I guess you could say that each represents an emotion to me, a memory of a place or a situation that I would like to return to. Since I have a slight problem connecting with my emotions (or so I’ve been told), I think these little globes are the first step to letting myself experience them.
Looking inside the snowglobe, I am confronted with an endless supply of snow. Depending on how you shake it, it can come in gusts or just a light sprinkle. I feel as though my life is one giant snowglobe and I am constantly weathering through the swirling snow. My hope for this diary, is to examine the snowflakes I encounter.
What’s in your snowglobe?
